Open Space in Medium-Density Neighbourhoods

 

In 2012, I was a member of an international team that produced illustrated site-planning and design guidelines for medium-density housing. All were based on research findings.

 

My view was that the core guidelines document had rather “got lost” in the larger reports. Some of the detailed statutory planning material   applied particularly to South-East Queensland and was not particularly relevant to other contexts.

 

The Council of Mayors of Southeast Queensland is keen to make this material widely available. Acknowledging their support for this project, I publish an abridged version here.
